We’re finally on our way to our workshop in Bhutan— here’s a photo of Will, Fred and Sarah at LAX. (By the way, this photo was taken by an LAX security officer…clearly, he hasn’t taken our workshop!)
We have a journey of approximately 7,782 miles (12,524 kilometers) ahead of us, taking us from sunny Los Angeles to the snowy Himalayas. Our route will take us through Seoul and Bangkok before we arrive in Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan. There, we’ll be joined by two other team members who are based in Asia, Mark and Thomas.

A little something on the nature of mentoring.
Having worked with kids for a long time has taught me a few things and helped me understand people a little better. Children don’t always know how to express it but one of the biggest needs they have is to know someone cares. They understand that they cannot take care of themselves so they look for opportunity or someone to get that need met.
I asked Joey L. what was the one thing that allowed him to get his photo career going so quickly and he attributed it to the support of his parents. Whether he did well or not they just went with it and supported him with encouragement, gear or whatever.
My experience is the this: the raw materials, gifts, talents are in there you just have to provide the environment for them to develop.
