The second day started with an important challenge: understanding the interior of the camera. We went fully into theory to explain how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO complement each other to achieve a correct exposure. Although it seems like a lot of technical information at once, the guys were super attentive, understanding that these three tools are what will give them total control over their photos.
After seeing the theory, the guys went out to take their first photos inside the MARCO museum to get to work. The objective was clear: apply what was learned. It was incredible to see how, with the support of the teachers following them closely, they went from doubt to action in a matter of minutes. Not only did they achieve very well-made photos, but their imagination flew; they started to experiment with angles and compositions that we didn’t expect for their second day. It is noticeable that they bring a lot of desire to propose new things.
After a necessary pause to recharge energy in the museum restaurant, the guys returned to the classroom and sat in front of Lightroom to import their material and face the difficult task of selecting. Each group had to agree to choose their best shot and share it in the Facebook group, which generated a great dynamic of collaboration.
To close on a high note, we watched the slideshow of photographer Mike Sakas. It was a moment of much reflection; seeing his work left them amazed and served to let them know that they are just as capable of achieving this using the tools acquired and perfected over time.
It is very gratifying to see that they didn’t just stay with what we told them, but that they dared to adjust the camera without fear of error. If this is barely day two, I can’t wait to see the stories that they are going to build for the end of the workshop.
El segundo día arrancó con un reto importante: entender el interior de la cámara. Nos metimos de lleno a la teoría para explicar cómo la velocidad de disparo, la apertura y el ISO se complementan entre sí para lograr una exposición correcta. Aunque parece mucha información técnica de golpe, los chicos estuvieron súper atentos, entendiendo que estas tres herramientas son las que les darán el control total sobre sus fotos.
Después de ver la teoría, los chicos salieron a tomar sus primeras fotos dentro del museo MARCO para ponerse manos a la obra. El objetivo era claro: aplicar lo aprendido. Fue increíble ver cómo, con el apoyo de los maestros siguiéndoles de cerca, pasaron de la duda a la acción en cuestión de minutos. No solo lograron fotos muy bien hechas, sino que su imaginación voló; empezaron a experimentar con ángulos y composiciones que no esperábamos para su segundo día. Se nota que traen muchas ganas de proponer cosas nuevas.
Después de una pausa necesaria para recargar energías en el restaurante del museo, los chicos regresaron al aula y se sentaron frente a Lightroom para importar su material y enfrentarse a la difícil tarea de seleccionar. Cada grupo tuvo que ponerse de acuerdo para elegir su mejor toma y compartirla en el grupo de Facebook, lo cual generó una gran dinámica de colaboración.
Para cerrar con broche de oro, vimos el slideshow del fotógrafo Mike Sakas. Fue un momento de mucha reflexión; ver su trabajo los dejó asombrados y les sirvió para saber que son igual de capaces de lograr esto utilizando las herramientas adquiridas y perfeccionadas con el tiempo.
Es muy gratificante ver que no se quedaron solo con lo que les dijimos, sino que se atrevieron a moverle a la cámara sin miedo al error. Si este es apenas el día dos, no puedo esperar a ver las historias que van a construir para el final del workshop.
