The faculty have arrived in Lisbon: Fred from Los Angeles; Sarah from Santa Fe; Wendy from Rochester; Thomas from Nepal; Arthur from San Diego and Mike from Hong Kong. But it didn’t happen without some excitement. Fred carted a ton of camera gear all by himself through Los Angeles International Airport, Wendy and Mike’s first flights were cancelled, and Thomas had some unexpected stops in Abu Dhabi and Milan on his way to Lisbon.

But after a restful first evening, we quickly got back on schedule and were able to visit all the locations for our photo shoots before the students arrived. The staff of the Aga Khan Development Network in Lisbon have been wonderful partners and have found great stories and locations for our students to photograph during the week ahead. They will visit schools, fantastic community building projects, and even what is possibly the world’s tiniest music recording studio (it used to be a bathroom!)
